He was all smiles, with one exception: when he wrote letters to his boyfriend. He confided in no one else, and in the end, it may have killed him. Joking can be walls, too.

Sober from cocaine, Xanax, LSD, alcohol, and definitely some other things, Caleb is never afraid to take a swing. He will fight to the death to anyone he loves. An inveterate mama's boy, he learned to cook to feed his grieving mother and found he excels at it. His self-harm scars are healing, but the internal work has yet to begin. His coping mechanisms are "nicotine" and "sex." It's not going swimmingly, to say the least. But God, does he love Vanya.

Emotionally isolated from a young age, Vanya tried to find any way she could to avoid going home. In so doing, she found addiction, particularly drawn to fentanyl. Coming out of addiction, she relies on art and music to carry her through. She loves doing pencil work in her sketchbook. She found her beloved dog, Shoebox, in the alley behind her workplace. There's also been someone to bail her out almost every time -- Caleb.

A product of deeply uncompassionate, conversative parents and a chronic need for validation, Kieran has experienced too much in his young life. He began trading sexual favors to older men in exchange for drugs beginning at thirteen. He has recently relapsed after several months of sobriety, and has had to do anything that he can to survive the streets. Seven months ago, he nearly died when attacked with a pipe to the head, which required surgery. The brain damage he sustained affects language, his one real escape for so long.

Mother to Lane and Caleb, Tiffany has led a challenging life. She was sexually assaulted at fifteen, an event that led to Lane Patrick Winters. Her parents wanted her to give her son up for adoption, but she instead chose to run away from home in Kansas with her five day old baby. She settled in Denver at a women's shelter. She met her husband in GED classes, and made an oopsie they named Caleb. Tiffany is a night shift nurse and a stalwart companion. She has always had to be the strong one. As a teen, Corey was a classic disappointment, dabbling with drugs and alcohol and eventually dropping out of high school. Everything changed when he met Tiffany and her three-month-old baby Lane in GED classes. Love at first sight struck him, and in a matter of months Tiffany and Lane lived with him and his grandparents. He aided and abetted in the creation of Caleb. He's an aircraft mechanic. Unfortunately, his love of alcohol never wavered, and Tiffany took Caleb several hundreds of miles away to heal after Lane's death. As Corey has started going to therapy and begun taking antidepressants, Tiffany has returned to his side. Caleb, however, is pissed.
